Detoxifying Smoothie Bowl

This recipe is loaded with detoxifying agents including lemon, cilantro, parsley, and ginger. It contains all the amino acids (protein powder) and fatty acids (chia seeds) required for detoxification!

And the best part; it’s delicious, so that’s a plus!

Lemon - is alkaline to the body and helps reduce acidity and balances pH. Lemon is a diuretic that increases urine production, which is very cleansing and beneficial for kidney function. Lemon also improves iron absorption, the mineral that carries oxygen in the body required for energy production.

Cilantro - has powerful detoxifying agents and its action is to mobilize heavy metals and toxins in the body making them more available for excretion. Cilantro eases digestion by stimulating the release of bile and improving elimination of toxins through the bile. Plus, it has high levels of selenium, a crucial element in detoxification and important for liver function.

Parsley - has cleansing properties that help flushing toxins out and improve detoxification. Parsley contains myristicin, a compound that fights cancer cells and activates Glutathione, the master antioxidant essential for detoxification. It also contains flavonoid, chlorophyll and high levels of vitamin C that boosts the immune system.

Ginger - has anti-bacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger reduces inflammation in the body, fight infections, and boosts immunity. Ginger is a natural antacid with phenolic compounds that ease irritation in the stomach and reduce acidity and heartburns. It also contains antioxidants that reduce oxidative stress in the body and help detoxification.

Ingredients:

👉1/2 frozen banana (potassium, minerals)⁠

👉1/2 avocado (good fats, fiber)⁠

👉1/2 lemon peeled cut in pieces (cleansing)⁠

👉1/4 cup cilantro (detoxifying)⁠

👉1/4 cup fresh parsley (cleansing)⁠

👉1 small chunk of fresh ginger minced (antimicrobial)⁠

👉1/2 scoop Vanilla protein powder⁠ @athletesbest⁠

👉1/2 tbsp chia seed (healthy fats, protein)⁠

👉water and a few ice cubes⁠

Instructions⁠

1- Blend together until creamy!⁠

2- Top with mixed frozen fruits (mango, pink pitaya, strawberry), walnut pieces, and unsweetened coconut flakes⁠
